DOE Webinar: Guiding Principles for Successfully Implementing Industrial Energy Assessment Recommendations

Industrial energy efficiency experts working with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) will host a webinar providing an overview of a guidebook titled “Guiding Principles for Successfully Implementing Industrial Energy Assessment Recommendations” on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. EDT. The webinar will walk people through the critical aspects of preparation and implementation before, during, and after an industrial energy assessment and will focus on key strategies for ensuring not only implementation of immediate recommendations but continuous energy efficiency improvements in the future.

Designed as an “at-a-glance” resource, the guidebook provides information to plant managers, energy managers, systems engineers, and others with a stake in industrial energy performance to help them optimize the energy-efficient operation of their facilities. It offers a clear and concise description of the key principles and activities that can help manufacturers to successfully implement recommendations identified during energy assessments. By adopting these principles, manufacturers can save energy, ensure their effective use of time and money, increase their bottom lines, and promote cultural changes that will make improved energy performance a key priority in their plants.

The webinar will feature Michaela Martin, program manager of Residential, Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, who will present an overview of the guidebook and provide insights into how participants can make the guide work most effectively for them. Steve Fugarazzo, manager of Facilities Engineering of Integrated Defense Systems at Raytheon Company, will also provide a best-practice example of how an industrial facility can increase implementation efforts by utilizing the principles identified in the guide.
